It is once again September 11th so I thought I would write a blog about this day.

This is the day which has much significance in our family with my mother and father in-laws, and a very dear friend we lost in the last several years, wedding days. (Both my in-laws and our dear friend were married the exact same day as a matter of fact). I digressed a little there.

To get back to the subject this day, like Pearl Harbor Day, is meant to remember and honor those whom we lost during an attack on our country.

Those we lost, and continue to lose, include men, women, children and at least one dog. Many of the people we lost this day were true to the name of the day, Patriots. They also followed the Christian belief of what Jesus did for humanity, the ultimate sacrifice.

These people, firefighters, former military, police and so many more raced into the danger zone to help those in need who were trapped in the buildings after the attack. They did not ask for their race, nationality, sexual preference, if they had an abortion, religion nor any other of the continual talking points that others use to divide us. They saw exactly what we are, people. People in need. That is the true definition of a Patriot, a person of faith and so much more. We need to aspire to be like them at that moment each and every minute of our lives.
