As everyone who truly knows me can tell you, I have many questions. In many ways it is like a toddler but in this case, many times I already know the answer. My questions are more to find out if you know a true answer or to try to make you think about the subject matter.
Today’s question is about freedom we all espouse in this country. We talk about it as if we are the only country in the world to have it. My question is, where do we stand in the freedom area compared with other countries?
According to the last study which was done in 2023 the United States of America was ranked 17th in the world (tied with the United Kingdom) for freedom. While many would lambast the current president for this that is untrue. These people who do this don’t understand how their own system of government works (a sad reality). This rating comes from all levels of government.
Every single law on the books is a removal of a freedom. While some laws are necessary, such as not killing another person, there are others which are not such as drinking a beer while sitting in a park (which is done freely in other countries). Laws are somewhat necessary but when laws start infringing on personal freedoms including political rights and civil liberties, are they truly following the framework of how the country was intended upon its founding?
