Globally there has been a backlash against Israel for the methods they use against Gaza after the terrorist attack which killed many innocents in a twisted way.
There have been many demonstrations across the globe about the atrocities inflicted on the civilian population in Gaza by Israel. Recently there was a demonstration in the city of brotherly love which blocked traffic on I-76. Many of the protestors are jewish, including a few Rabbi’s and they have demanded an immediate cease fire in Gaza to allow humanitarian aid to flow in.

While I agree on many of the points of what they say as their base message, I have some questions for them. First question is, would you be willing to travel to Gaza to stand in front of the Israeli army to protest similar to the student who stood in front of Chinese tanks in Tiananmen Square? Other questions are, where is your outrage and protesting against Russia for invading another country and slaughtering their innocent civilians? Where is your protest against the Chinese government? Where is the protest agains the North Korean government? Where is your protest any time any government across the globe threatens violence against anyone through their rhetoric? Where is your protest against any government taking aggression against any of the civilians in their own country? How about protesting at the UN who sits in comfort while atrocities across the globe occur on their supposed watch? How about protesting at the UN for allowing this whole Palestine/Israel thing to brew over many decades by not drawing true hard line borders for each of the two countries to follow? Where is your protest against Gaza for allowing what is essentially their government to rabidly slaughter peaceful civilians, including young children, at a music festival and the surrounding area? Where is your protest at ANY war or aggression by any entity across the globe? Closer to home, in our own city, where is your protest and action against those who are wreaking havoc with violence right here?
Truth is that you blocking traffic, trains or sidewalks with a small protest is not going to change anything that you wish to see changed. All this does is inconvenience people who are not going to take your side. They are only going to be angry with you.
Another inconvenient truth is that war is ugly, innocents die. There is no way to avoid this unless you avoid the conflict in the first place.
