Today we hear all about the work/life balance in marketing campaigns. This slogan is used for apartments, condos, townhouses, jobs and even business campuses.

So, is there a need for a work/life balance?

The short answer is this…yes.

The balance you require is not really work/life as work is part of life. Even just being at and maintaining a home requires work. It is more of a balance of everything. Work, food, hobbies, exercise, learning, socializing, caring for others and many other things in everyones lives.

Unfortunately for many there is no balance and it starts (in America at least) when you are a child. Parents today are signing their kids up for so many things at the same time that it is rush here for dance, rush there for softball, then basketball, etc. This lack of balance propels them into adolescence and then adulthood where the cycle starts all over again.

While it is equally important to be involved in extracurricular activities, it has to be all part of the balance. When you have too many at once then you are not in balance.

Find your balance in life and teach how important this is to your children.

Peace
